Slow free agency market

After the signing of Mark Teixeira by the Yankees, other free agents were hoping they would move to the front of the line in terms of interest. Yet, that interest has not formed, partly due to economic problems. This is not good news for free agents like Manny Ramirez, who were hoping for big deals with big money because it simply isn't happening in this climate.
