Alex Rodriguez in the news again

He is all over the news again. The ex-mariner is in another controversy after Torre released his new book that criticized Rodriguez for being a fraud. The Yankees seem to have rallied around their player, but that was expected- no one knows whats really happening behind the scenes in the clubhouse and between the players. What do you think is happening and will this all blow over? Also, will it effect A. Rod's play- for the better or worse?

Where will Manny go?

I find it ridiculous that Manny Ramirez and Scott Boras did not accept a $25 million, one year deal with the Dodgers. L.A. is a competitor and Manny needs to realize he isn't going to get the 6 years or whatever he wants because he is simply too old and Major League Baseball teams have learned the hard way that signing old players to long terms isn't always good *cough the Yankees.

Selig made $17.5 million

New reports show that Major League Baseball headman, Bud Selig, made an astounding $17.5 million in 2007. Only three players earned more than him, all three being on the Yankees (Giambi, ex-Mariner Alex Rodriguez, and Derek Jeter.) Of course there are more players that make over 17.5 now, but that is still a huge amount, especially for a commish of Selig's caliber. He is no where near good for the sport and only cares about the owners, which really hurts the fans, who are the people that really keep it all going. It's all a business sadly...

Aaron Heliman has signed a deal a with the Cubs and is now officially not a Mariner. This also ends speculation on the Peavy trade between the Cubs and San Diego Padres. Also, The Mariners have agreed to a deal with Mike Sweeney- let's see how this one plays out over the course of this season.
